In 1951, Dewey Fitzpatrick Jr. lit the first fire at The Spare Rib BBQ in Greenville, Texas, igniting a legacy that would feed North Texas for over half a century. Now, 22 years after its final brisket was sliced, his youngest son, Robert Fitzpatrick, is bringing that same smoky magic to the Midwest. Dewey’s BBQ Market is opening near Chicago, Illinois—serving up the original recipes and authentic Pit BBQ techniques that made his father a legend. The torch has passed, but the fire’s still burning.
